Hi guys, welcome you all to this new post hope you all are ok as you are reading this post, You all must have heard about the Reliance jio's latest JioMeet app which is a video calling platform in India to take on Zoom and other video-calling platforms. This time JioMeet is not only focusing on regular users but also on Enterprises/Business oriented as it asks for the Company name while doing registration but as i said it is also for regular users so anyone can make a JioMeet Id by using his/her Email id or their phone numbers to register and start a meeting. Below are some features of JioMeet along with it's comparison to Zoom.

Basic Free plan :

JioMeet and Zoom offers same number of members allowed to be on the video-
conferencing at a time that is 100. But there's difference in there time limit which is obviously an advantage for JioMeet to be used for now.

Jiomeet allows 100 members altogether on the group video call for 24 hours while zoom also gives this time limit of 24 hours if you are on a video call to 1 to 1 member but has a time limit of  40 minutes if you are on a group call that is 3 people or more up to 100 for free instead if you wish to continue video calling beyond 40 minutes on zoom then you need to start another meeting by disconnecting the running one. This gives an advantage to JioMeet initially as it give 24 hours for 100 members meeting.

Zoom paid plans vs JioMeet

There are three paid plans for Zoom users. One for small teams, another for small and medium-sized enterprises and lastly for large enterprises. The plans starts at $14.99 which is ₹1,120 per month, per host for up to 9 hosts. However, if more hosts are needed than a costlier plan will have to be purchased.

For large enterprises Zoom allows up to 1,000 participants in one meeting. On the other hand , JioMeet app has not announced its paid plans as of yet. Hence, it is still unclear as to how JioMeet app will accomodate large enterprises. So far it is clear that for free and limited usage JioMeet app is the clear winner in JioMeet VS Zoom. However, for larger and more flexible meetings Zoom is the clear winner.

JioMeet VS Zoom Experience :

In JioMeet VS Zoom, the user experience of both these apps is pretty similar. JioMeet is available across all platforms such as Androids, iOS, Windows, macOS and etc. JioMeet download can be done from the app store. Users are able to download JioMeet from its official website as well.

As per JioMeet features, users can schedule meetings in advance, create password-protect meetings and create waiting room as well. However, the video quality has been limited to 720p so far. But, users can use third-party camera apps as well. Zoom also provides this feature.

Encryption

So far, Reliance Jio has claimed that all meetings conducted through JioMeet app are encrypted, but the company has not provided any further details of it's End-to-End (E2E) encryption. Zoom offers E2E encryption to both its paid as well as free users. To understand this better, it can be said that without E2E encryption making a video call is the same as browsing on a HTTPS website.

Interface :

JioMeet has a simple interface and looks a lot similar to Zoom. While Zoom presents a light blue color, jioMeet higlights a dark blue shade, Both can have HD quality meetings as well.

There are a couple of features present in JioMeet as it supports multi-device login support, and you can switch between them on upto five devices while on call. As the exclusive feature jioMeet include Safe Driving Mode to allow users to continue their meeting en route.

One of the major concern about Zoom as its security issues. Both the app and on the web, there were many instances of a security lapse. Incidents of Zoom bombing, where persons unrelated to the group meet ere spotted regularly. Further Zoom introduces end to end encryption, but it came with a loop hole.

If we talk about the interface offered by the JioMeet and Zoom are almost same both have almost same features and graphics but as zoom app is launched earlier which has some disadvantages of it's own so JioMeet has tackled some of those problems in their app like longer time limit and also i think it will provide better plans for enterprise users.
